5 years and counting daily

My mother, Maureen, will be dead five years in another hour or so. In no particular order, here are some of the things she liked:

Buttercups
Whiskey and red lemonade
Ice cream
Strong tea
Sweets wrapped in coloured paper
Cardigans
Smiles
Slippers
Lipstick
Hair curlers
Armchairs with cushions
Babies
Chocolate
Halloween
Long walks
Photographs
Little House on the Prairie
Groceries
Her Sisters
Blackberries
Toast
Sunsets
Photographs
Her Brother
Dogs
Pride before a fall
Laughter
Honey
Clouds
Television
Music
Cousin Paul
Roses
Mountains
Grandchildren
Clean sheets
Green fields
Family

Miss you, Mam.

Nice remembrance Willie. Think I might purloin the theme for my own blog.

I was okay before I wrote it and afterwards. During it, my monitor got a pressure wash of tears.

As threatened...I started a list of Mom's faves...I didn't give way to tears, but there were some hard swallows as memories flowed/ebbed. It's been 33 years now, and the ache is still with me. Yes...we will always miss our mothers.
RIP Maureen, and Hazel.

A sad remembering. One that I haven`t yet had to experience. Until you meet again......
